Jim's sculpture, "A Wreck in the Making," has been accepted into this prestigious animal art show and exhibition.  "A Wreck in the Making" has received several 2011 awards, including Best of Show at NatureWorks in Tulsa OK, and the Phippen Family Award at the Phippen Museum's Western Art Show in Prescott AZ.

 

 

The Society of Animal Artists' (SAA) "Art and the Animal" exhibition is the flagship event of SAA, an organization dedicated to maintaining the highest standards among painters and sculptors who specialize in animal subject matter.

 

The exhibition is now on National Tour, after opening at the Dennos Museum in Traverse City, MI, with The Wildlife Experience in Parker CO as its first stop.

 

The SAA draws upon the artistic talent of over 500 members from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America.  Combining natural history and fine art in creative ways, this annual exhibition is juried by distinguished experts and includes over 120 works created by some of the finest artists in this artistic genre.

 

 

 

Since 1986, the Museum of the Big Bend has exhibited some of the finest Western art and cowboy gear in the longest-running event of its kind at the annual Trappings of Texas Western Art Exhibit & Sale.

 

This prestigious, annual invitational brings artists and gearmakers from North and South America to display their creations to patrons of this vanishing culture. Trappings runs in conjunction with the Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering, also held on the Sul Ross State University campus.

NatureWorks celebrates our wildlife and the people who love them.  It is a Tulsa-based organization that places great, heroic-sized, bronze wildlife monuments around the city, recognizes people and companies dedicated to promoting conservation, and presents an annual wildlife art show that raises money to fund wildlife conservation projects in northeastern Oklahoma.

 

Each year, the NatureWorks Monuments Program has made it possible for NatureWorks to donate a heroic-sized, realistic bronze wildlife monument to the City of Tulsa.  The organization honors an individual who has promoted the conservation ethic of wildlife resources to receive the NatureWorks Wildlife Stewardship Award.  The award includes a commission to sculpt a monument that honors individual or group voluntary accomplishments.

 

Patrons of NatureWorks provide financial support for the Monuments Program.  Their names are included on the bronze plaque with each monument.

Jim is honored that three of his monuments are displayed throughout Tulsa.
